Privacy
The short version: EmberScene does not collect anything about you.
There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and I do not set cookies. Nothing you do on the site is sent to me or to anyone else.
What your browser remembers
A few of your choices are kept on your own device, in your browser's local storage, so the site is as you left it: whether the panels are shown or hidden, whether temperatures are in Celsius or Fahrenheit, and whether the wildlife card is folded away. While you move between the home page and a scene, your browser also holds a note of which scene you were in for that visit, so the page can return smoothly.
None of this leaves your device and none of it identifies you. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser's settings.
Where the site is hosted
EmberScene is hosted by Cloudflare. As with any web host, Cloudflare handles the technical details of each visit (such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for) to deliver the site and keep it safe from abuse. I do not use that information to identify you. Cloudflare's own privacy policy describes how it treats it.
Links to other sites
The credits link to Wikimedia Commons, Xeno-canto and Creative Commons, and the About page links to Pete Ottery's own website and X profile. Those sites have their own policies, and your browser only contacts them if you follow a link.
If this changes
If EmberScene ever adds anything that collects information, such as visitor statistics, this page will say so before it does. Last updated 28 October 2026.
Questions, corrections or a recording you would like credited differently: hello@emberscene.net.
